Super Smash Bros Melee Poster Update by danimation2001 Super Smash Bros Melee Poster Update by danimation2001
Edits: I made more changes to this piece. More tweaks here and there. Changed Kirby's arm positioning and other various tweaks of which I'm sure no one will notice but me. Please do let me know what you think.

Here's the poster that I will have for EVO. This version, with Jigglypuff having the headband on instead of off, will be the version that I only make for this year's EVO, so consider it an exclusive.

I'm trying to rush through a lot of other things before EVO rolls around next month and to try and get as much as I can ready for it.

Please do let me know what you think and if there are things that I can do to improve the piece further do let me know.

For example does the milky way of stars work at this angle? Right now it has a Z type visual line for the viewer through the image, should I keep it like that or rotate it for a diamond image for the viewer to connect with visually. Not sure what works better here.

I still want to tweak this further so any critiques would be appreciated.

Also there is apparently going to be an artist alley now at EVO. So I shall also have a table of my own for the event as well as doing some signings over at the Capcom booth.

Evo starts on the 15th of July and will end on the 17th. Hope to see you there!

This is a well polished piece. Your attention to detail is spectacular. The unique features of each character's outfit pop with with clarity and depth, which encourages the viewer to examine each character, especially their mains, more thoroughly and guides them from one side of the piece to the other. The colors are executed with the same polish that they have in the game, plus the palette gains extra energy due to the lighting and the extensive details on the characters. Placing Master Hand's shadow in the lower right-hand corner helps explain what the Smash Bros. are charging toward and hints toward an epic battle. This level of detail makes each fighter stand out and work well together in this setting. Final Destination is an awesome choice for the scene, because its singular platform is simple yet cool, and the presence of the stars and the angle at which they are displayed provides an epic, super-charged, otherworldly vibe that is always present in every battle in Melee, whether it's a casual fight between friends or several of the world's best Smashers duking it out to be the apex warrior in the Smash universe. Spectacular job!

I've been browsing your gallery, and the fact that you drew every single character separately is living proof of how much effort you've put into this project. Smash Bros often displays the Nintendo stars fighting each other, but they'll band together if there's a great threat. There's no stopping them here, I know it. I think the only niggles I have with it are Mario's and Luigi's overalls. They look a bit purplish to me. But that's only a minor complaint that doesn't ruin this piece in the slightest.

Nintendo's all stars are willing to duke it out, and this dynamic picture is proof of it!

That's amazing! I really love the detail you've put into this. Are you a Melee player? I used to play Melee competitively for a few years then switched over to Smash 4. Speaking of EVO, I'll be there myself for the first time. I'm really looking forward to the experience. :D

As far back in the day, I use to play the game with my friends a lot and enjoyed it very much, but was never really as good as any of these pro players. And having played it again. It's very interesting knowing all the things that I didn't know about the game from before but finding out about it now. L-canceling, DI, wall techs, etc etc. There's just so much about this game that makes it so interesting. I'll have to eventually have a reunion with old friends and see if what I've learned now can turn the tides of the people that I use to play with that always seemed to have the advantage over me, probably for those very reasons.

I'm looking forward to EVO as well. Got any players that you'll be cheering for?

Gorgeous work! I really love how some of the characters are using some of their actual moves (Shadow Ball, Spin Attack) and the run poses are basically 1:1 with the original source. The colors are done very well, especially Zelda. That's literal perfection right there color wise. Definitely a true masterpiece.

Thanks, I had blast through the game quickly and get all the trophies of the characters so that I could have a better source of reference of all the characters and their details. I still have to do more tweaking here and there.
